Aziz Abu Sarah is a peace builder, cultural educator, serial entrepreneur—Co-Fonder of InterAct International and MEJDI Tours, author and international speaker. 

Aziz's work in peace-building, conflict resolution, and cultural education has taken him to more than 80 countries and earned him recognition as a National Geographic Explorer and TED Fellow. His mission was shaped by the killing of his 19-year-old brother, Tayseer, when Aziz was 10. After struggling with a desire for revenge, he chose instead to dedicate his life to justice, peace, and equality in a world torn by war and conflict.

Aziz has spoken at the United Nations, European Parliament, TED, National Geographic, universities, corporations, and international institutions around the world. With his friend Scott Cooper, he is the co-founder of MEJDI Tours, a global social-impact travel company that pioneered the Dual Narrative™ approach, bringing together multiple perspectives and local voices to create deeper understanding across cultural and political divides.

Aziz is currently Co-CEO of InterAct International, which he co-leads with Israeli peacemaker Maoz Inon. InterAct’s aim is to achieve a peace agreement in Israel and Palestine by 2030, and to promote peacemaking around the world. In 2026, Aziz and Maoz published their New York Times bestselling book, The Future Is Peace: A Shared Journey Across the Holy Land, which chronicles their journey across Israel and Palestine and explores how personal loss, competing narratives, and decades of conflict can be transformed into a commitment to peace. They have shared the stage with Pope Francis who embraced and endorsed them, and met with Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican who also endorsed their peace work. In January 2026, they became the first Israeli and Palestinian to jointly carry the Olympic torch in Italy ahead of the Winter Olympics.

Aziz is the author of Crossing Boundaries: A Traveler’s Guide to World Peace (2020) and co-author of Strangers, Neighbors, Friends: Muslim-Christian-Jewish Reflections on Compassion and Peace (2018). He is the recipient of numerous international awards, including the Goldberg Prize for Peace in the Middle East, the Eisenhower Medallion, and the Intercultural Innovation Award from the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and BMW Group. He has also been recognized for his peacebuilding work by former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. His work and story has been featured by The New York Times, Alquds newspaper, NPR, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, BBC, CNN, NBC, PBS, and Democracy Now!, among others.
